A rhino was gunned down in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, where recent flooding has made wildlife vulnerable to traffickers.
Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam was struck by tragedy last week, when a greater one-horned rhino was gunned down and the horn removed.
Two suspects were arrested, although one is still at large, according to the Business Standard. There was no mention of the horn’s location.
Recent flooding has made rhinos and other wildlife in the area vulnerable to traffickers, and in this case, the gang managed to enter Pobitora by boat and kill the the rhino.
